Panda Mobile ships physical US SIM cards to addresses in China, so you can have your card ready before traveling to the US. Choose free standard delivery or expedited SF Express shipping when you order, then schedule your US service to start on your planned arrival date through your Panda Mobile account. Receiving the card and activating your number are separate steps; your service does not start simply because the package arrives.
Check That Your Phone Supports a Physical SIM Before Ordering
Start with three checks: your phone must be unlocked, have a physical nano-SIM slot, and support the US mobile network you plan to use. Some iPhone models sold in the US have no physical SIM tray. Phones purchased in mainland China also vary by model, so do not rely on the country of purchase alone when checking compatibility.
For a broader look at phone compatibility and getting a US number, see our US SIM card purchase and setup guide.
If your phone has no physical SIM slot, check whether it supports eSIM instead. Our how to activate a US eSIM guide covers the process. Panda Mobile eSIMs cannot be activated for the first time while you are in mainland China, so factor that into your travel plans.
Order Your SIM Online and Enter Your Delivery Address in China
Once you have confirmed that your phone can use a physical SIM, choose your plan and SIM format. If you mainly need calling, texts, and data while living in the US, consider the Panda Mobile Lite or Starter plans according to your data needs. If you travel between the US and China frequently, compare Unlimited and Unlimited Plus, which offer OnePool™ shared data for eligible use in both countries. Be sure to choose a physical SIM at checkout.
Sign up or log in with an email address you regularly use, and complete any verification requested at checkout. For the general application process, see how to secure a US phone number online. When arranging delivery to China, the address details deserve extra attention.
Enter an address where someone can receive the package. Include the province, city, district, street, building, unit, and apartment or room number. For a campus delivery, add the campus and dormitory building. Double-check the recipient’s name and phone number.
Your address in China is for shipping the card. If your account later requests a US service address, you will need to provide that address separately.
For deliveries to China, Panda Mobile offers free standard shipping (estimated 3–5 business days) and expedited SF Express shipping (estimated 1–3 business days). Choose based on your travel schedule, and check any express-shipping charge at checkout. Delivery windows are estimates, so allow extra time before your flight.
Save Your Order Details and Check the SIM When It Arrives
After placing the order, keep your order number, confirmation email, account email address, and delivery details. If the order page provides a tracking number or link, save it as well. If no tracking details appear, contact customer support with your order number to check the shipment.
When the SIM arrives, inspect the card and its holder for damage, then locate the ICCID. This is the identification number for the physical SIM. It is usually printed on the SIM or the card it comes attached to, and you may need it during activation. Keep the original card holder so you can find the number later.
Schedule Activation for Your Arrival in the US
After your physical SIM arrives in China, sign in to the Panda Mobile customer portal and follow the instructions for your assigned US number. Confirm your US service address if requested. Your account may show a US number before the SIM is active; having an assigned number does not mean calls, texts, or data are ready to use.
Follow the portal instructions for your physical SIM, including confirming that you have received the card and entering its ICCID when prompted. You can then arrange scheduled activation in the portal by selecting the date you expect to arrive in the US. Review the chosen date and activation details before confirming your request.
Panda Mobile will activate the line automatically on your selected date, allowing you to receive the card in China without starting your US service earlier than planned. The selected date—not the actual time your flight lands—controls the scheduled activation. If your travel date changes, check your arrangement with Panda Mobile support before that date. Your account status and plan terms determine when billing begins.
Three Things to Check Before You Fly
□ SIM not delivered yet: Keep your order number and contact details handy, and confirm the latest delivery status.
□ SIM received: Pack the SIM and its holder so the ICCID is available when you need it.
□ Activation scheduled: Confirm your selected start date and activation details in your Panda Mobile account.
For questions about shipping, changing the recipient address, or activation timing, have your order number and travel date ready when contacting Panda Mobile. Chinese- and English-language customer support, including WeChat support, is available.
Test Calls, Texts, and Mobile Data After Arriving in the US
Once service is active, insert the physical SIM into your phone and restart it. Make a test call, send a text, then turn off Wi-Fi to check whether mobile data works. For more setup tips after landing, see the just-landed US mobile setup checklist.
What to Do if Delivery Is Delayed or the SIM Does Not Work
If your departure is close and the SIM has not arrived, contact Panda Mobile with your order number. Ask whether the order has shipped, what delivery information is available, and whether any changes to the delivery arrangement are still possible. Do not leave the inquiry until the day you fly.
If your phone does not recognize the SIM at all, check that it is inserted correctly, confirm the phone is unlocked, then reinsert the card and restart the device. If the phone recognizes the SIM but shows “No Service,” check the activation status in your account and confirm compatibility with US networks. Share your phone model, order number, and account status with support if the issue continues.
